The Range has amazing food!! The experience is like none other. Great atmosphere and everyone is very friendly. It is cash only, so make sure to bring it with you.

Fresh Kill.... amazing!! Tables Creek Lamb melted like butter. French onion soup was super delicious. Highly recommend!!

One of the best meals of my whole life. The whole menu was carefully crafted and well thought out. Service was amazing and the food was plated delicately to please the eye without sacrificing portions or flavor. Our server even gave us a couple bags of their coffee to take home because we enjoyed it so much. I highly recommend this family owned restaurant with a nice relaxed, quaint, and cute atmosphere great service and amazing food. I will be coming here anytime I'm near the SLO area.

The Range is top notch. Each dish was over the top delicious. We had muscles, dragon's breath, and bread for an appetizer and each dish had its own great flavors. I had the lamb shanks for my main course and it was amazing I also sampled chicken breast, pasta, and fried chicken for the main course and I have no complaints about any of them. Service and atmosphere was nice. if you're looking for a new place to have dinner I would highly recommend trying out The Range you won't be disappointed..

Top 5 in the county. Fresh ingredients, great local vibe, and wonderful service. If I have someone visiting the central coast for the first time, The Range is a must. Start off with a little Dragon's Breath, and whatever main course you choose, leave room for a wonderful desert.

Cool, eclectic place. Great food. Cash only. Place fills up fast and they don't take reservations. Worth it even if you have to wait. Elk is outstanding and the menu changes for a great selection every time.

Bring cash because they are a cash only business but it will be cash well spent. Awesome food, excellent service, never rushed.

I hate to give this one up (it's our fave) but if your ever around the little town of Santa Margarita you must stop at The Range to eat! This is up scale excellent food with kick back patio or dressier indoor seating. All the service is fantastic (ask for memo as your waiter) & the food is top notch, mouth watering, excellent...go see for yourself. You won't be unhappy you tried.

Went here for wife's birthday best ribeye filet mignon we have had in a long time melt-in-your-mouth delicious like butter the dragon's breath appetizer super delicious and the lavender lemon curd creme brulee for dessert out of this world highly recommend going if you get the chance well worth the drive well worth the price and you might even see Jade Jackson

Food is delicious, you need to have a patient because perfection doesn't rush

Love love love. My husband brought me here for a date. I had Elk for the firat time and it was amazing. Well cooked and prepared so well. My husband had the fried chicken dinner special he raved about it. It was juicy crispy and all around good old comfort food.

Great service, great salads, great bread and fabulous food. They don't take credit cards, but there's an ATM across the street.

Second time was as good as the last time. I'm glad we figured out a way to include it in our trip North. My Elk was delicious, as well as Elouise's Fresh Kill Lamb. Her favorite part was dessert - Lavendar Honey Creme Brulee...Oh, and the Carpaccio was good too. I am definitely coming again.

The food at The Range is beyond delicious! The wait staff are very friendly and accommodating. We were a party of 5 and were placed in the middle of the restaurant, where it was very loud, so we asked to be moved to a corner table. They were gracious and set us up at a table in a room adjacent to the main dining room. My only suggestion is that they install acoustics.

Love love love to eat here. We find not taking credit cards is just part of the local charm. We brought three large hungry teen boys who each demolished an elk dinner, and were very happy. So pleased Dragon’s Breath never leaves the menu! Also pleased that the local wine price remains so reasonable. We had a great night in the patio and didn’t even need heat lamps.

The freshest meat you will ever have cooked exactly the way you want it. This restaurant is really good. They don't take reservations so get there when they open at 5 for a table otherwise you might be waiting a while.

Every time I come to the Range I leave full and satisfied. They have something for everyone. Service is always engaging but that does come with a price of a more paced experience. It is a come, eat, and take your time kind of place. Be prepared tonget there early or be ready to wait. Outside seating is always comfortable even when cold.

Very intimate and serene place with out of this world food. It's a converted garage that had a hall like, outside seating on the other end of the building. Bathrooms are beautifully decorated and love the classic Country Western album covers posted on the wall. The wild mushroom pasta was magnificent!!#

Do kot be intimidated by the price tag as it simply reflects the artisan quality of the meats that are available. Everything on the menu is absolutely stunning. The wine list is divinely inspired as well. There is always an exquisite pairing experience available to guests. To miss out on visiting The Range is a serious tragedy. For a memorable unique dinner experience, The Range is among the best in the area. They also offer takeout now which provides an immense opportunity to enjoy their 'sandwich of the day' or other delicious entrees without dining in.

Don't let the outside street view fool you! From one end to the other the decor and artistic creativity makes for the perfect atmosphere for a family dinner, a meeting of friends or date night! From appetizers to salads and incredible entrees, every bite left a lasting impression. The staff are so accommodating and definitely part of the experience. Treat yourself!

Our first time there and it was a wonderful experience. The food is exceptional from the best Caesar salad, and that is my go-to item, to the elk medallions, coffee encrusted ribeye-a new on me.Our server was so good. She knew everything about the menu, I just loved her.Have already recommended the restaurant to several others. I am looking forward to trying their new Mexican restaurant that is across the street.

A hidden dining treasure the locals try to keep secret. This unimpressive outside but cozy inside little restaurant is blessed with a talented owner/chef whose dishes are memorable. In other words .. he really knows how to cook. His menu includes red meats, seafood, salads, etc... and they are spot on. The prices are moderately expensive but you won't regret your visit(s). Be aware there are no reservations, it's 1st come 1st served and CREDIT CARDS ARE NOT ACCEPTED.
